Which condition is characterized by painful periods and pelvic pain?

Endometriosis is recognized for its hallmark symptoms of painful periods (dysmenorrhea) and chronic pelvic pain. This condition occurs when tissue similar to the lining inside the uterus grows outside the uterus, leading to a variety of symptoms.
